Firstly, learn the labor laws and regulations governing exempt and non-exempt employee classifications in your jurisdiction. then determine the position, whether it comes under exempt or non-exempt. Notify all members regarding this. involve senior managers in it, and also update yourself regarding changes in laws.

If you can keep all these in mind while changing a position from No-Exempt to Exempt, Then there will be no problem.

Ensure compliance with labor laws, adjust salary to meet exempt status requirements, and communicate changes to the employee. Update contracts or policies, provide training, and consult legal or HR professionals for guidance. Thoroughly document the process for transparency and compliance.
