A constructive relationship between those two is only possible by leaving the ego and the emotions at the door.
After that is done, you need a facilitator/moderator who brings both parties to the table with the goal of getting a serious understanding of each other's work.
Otherwise, they will only see their point of view and keep on acting based on that.
Encourage sales teams to connect product managers with clients early on. Gather feedback for roadmap improvements, ensuring we develop solutions they want to buy. Great opportunity to learn about other incumbent technologies to potentially help consolidate them for cost optimization and increased efficiencies.
