How does your supply chain team collaborate with product management on digital transformation initiatives (if at all)?
Sort by:
Great question.
There are many ways that supply chain team can collaborate with product management on digital transformation initiatives such as:
- Collaborate and involve each other as early as at the strategic level. Keep the communication open, clear, effective for both teams.
- Share the same common goal on the initiatives (for serving the clients) while balancing the needs of your own department.
- Share/work on the same set of data: Data Integration & real time analytics
- Collaborate on process redesign together for those areas that need to be automation and process optimization.
- Collaborate on customer centric supply chains: by enhancing customer feedback loop features into the platform/ app that can share between departments.
- Collaborate on end-to-end visibility and regulation compliance: both teams can work on digital platform (s) that have the track and traceability on materials and processes and make it easier to track and comply with environmental regulations throughout the product/service lifecycle.
- And, so much more.
Hope that helps. If you have any more questions, please let me know. Please keep up your great work and good luck with your initiatives.
We have established GPOs (Global Process Owner) on the business side and they are collaborating with architects and product owners on the IT side. They are handling all demands in a collaborative way including the prioritization of tasks / demands.
We have additionally established an interdisciplinary community which we call DTS (digital transformation specialists) and another one with focus on AI which we call AIcebreakers. For DTS and AIcebreakers we have "speed boat" approaches by an Innovation Council which is taking fast decisions
