Yes, we set a COP and was very successful, basically reuse of concepts/practices and awareness on information security and good practices.
Yes, we setup an internal user group (focused on the Microsoft Power Platform) that is made up of cross-functional resources, including IT, HR, Finance, Data Analytics, Operations, etc. The group meets monthly, builds an agenda through areas of interest and promotes collaboration and sharing for all participants. We adopted this strategy to not "kill" the spirit of innovation, while also ensuring that any automated solutions developed in the various functional areas had awareness and input from IT, while the other areas gain exposure to best practices and realities around implementing automation that IT is accustomed to. We've been going for about 6 months and so far it has proven to be a very positive approach to collaboration and information sharing across traditional functional boundaries, while also avoiding the classic "shadow IT" impacts.
