I see Gen AI supporting many area's of the IT application delivery. We are already using Gen AI tools to draw our UML documentations from prompts. We are piloting using Gen AI to create Test case documentation from stories (good Success criteria is the key.) We have already leveraged Gen AI powered code review. Near term I expect API documentation to be Gen AI delivered, development and UX to be AI assisted, process documentation to be Gen AI delivered, and our pilot to move from QA test case creation to QA Automation creation. In the future I expect we will be able to configure SAAS systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft D365 with help of AI, and deliver small custom low code apps with Gen AI as well.

Gen AI needs bit of dog fooding, staff learning and verification. Before we pitch to business. So ideal use cases are related to developer productivity.
1) Code completion and intellisense
2) Automate the governance
3) Deeper code checks
4) QA automation

I am hoping that with big data and analytics, and potentially some APIs from government and research organisations, we can access more data about complex subjects and generate predictive trends.

Generative AI (Gen AI) has the potential to revolutionize the IT organization of the future. It can automate many repetitive and time-consuming tasks, free up IT staff to focus on more strategic and creative work, and help businesses to innovate more quickly and effectively.
Specific use cases could be:
Automating software development and testing
Improving customer support
Protecting against cybersecurity threats
Accelerating innovation
Overall, Gen AI has the potential to make IT organizations more productive, innovative, and secure. However, it is important to note that Gen AI is still a relatively new technology, and it is important to implement it carefully and thoughtfully.
