Director of Technology Strategy in Services (non-Government), 2 - 10 employees
We've been seeing headlines over the last several years where the technologies are impacting the workplace, in positive and negative ways.  You hear about the emergence of AI, robotics, everything that's going to "replace our jobs." But then on the other side, there's also the “technology is taking over my life,” and there's overload. So dealing with the impact of emerging technology on mental health is about helping people overcome technology overload, concerns about complexity, insecurity and uncertainty about the job market. In most cases where jobs have been taken over, it's not the full job that's been taken over. It's the tasks that people were doing, which were mundane, repetitive, and hard. It allowed them to then step those up, get rid of the tasks and focus on much more high value things. We need to get away from this narrative that technology is going to take our jobs. It's not, it's going to take our tasks and it's actually going to make things better for us. We've just got to make sure we're delivering it for the right reasons and not just putting in a system for the sake of a system.
