From direct experience with clients, breaking down silos is a priority. Automation and technology applications help cross-functional BUs communicate and collaborate more seamlessly. The other key area of interest leading to larger investments of capital and resources is revamping outdated demand planning processes and migrating to the adoption of Advanced Integrated Business Planning (IBP) models with predictive analytics tools and capabilities, real-time reporting dashboards, and automation behind forecasting. Lastly, supply chain leaders and C-Suite Executives are learning to embrace E2E blueprinting and functional design engineering tactics for strategy planning and strategic decision-making.

Demand Driven Strategy completely ensures seamless execution across all stages of Supply Chain. By definition, Demand Driven approach is based on actual signals and therefore highly adaptive to myriad of changes in the real world of execution. I have seen and deployed these methods myself to witness drastic reduction in fire fighting in the execution and control level world of supply chain.

Have a complete understanding of policies within the organization, as well as identify dependencies and points where the workflow can stop, additionally validate with all stakeholders that the resources/services have been pre-approved, eliminating future queries or challenge made by any management personnel

I’m interested in how you approach breaking down your strategy regarding the software component for executing supply chain operations to ensure there are no gaps and every process is mapped out efficiently.

It depends on the software that is going to be used to carry out the operations, and also, if it is part of the upstream or downstream of the procurement process, in any case, some of the activities, can be automated/delegated to the supplier. and the best scenario runs simultaneously. Also having your IT area as a trusted partner is a huge help since they can help to make changes in the system (if is allowed by the manufacturer) to better serve your needs.<br>
