What are your thoughts on all the new domain extensions being used today (.ai, .co, .io, and even .work)?  Do you think using an .ai domain helps an AI tech company signal innovation or credibility, or is it just the latest trend?

Honestly, domain extensions like .ai or .io don't add much real value. They look trendy and can help with branding if your .com is taken, but they don't boost credibility, SEO, or user trust on their own. If your product's solid, the domain is secondary. If it’s not, no domain suffix will fix that. At best, it's branding. At worst, it’s a distraction.

I don't see the added value here. AI is being added to everything these days, often with minimal real usage. The term feels overused. A strong product or service shouldn’t need “AI” stamped all over it—especially if it doesn't enhance the customer experience. It feels more like a trend than substance. Also, opting for a .ai domain can give off a younger, startup-like image, which may not align with the positioning the company is aiming for.

Using AI for a domain extension is confusing. Every new technology could say that they need an extension. Big data - BD, IOT, Machine learning - ML, etc. Let's not add needless complexity to draw attention.

I agree with John; I don't think it's necessary and can say the same for any other's as well. Whether a .com or .net, what matters to us is the content, information that will be helpful to us, our organizations and the communities we serve.
