We are defining the roles in our Internal audit department for reviewing and signing off on workpaper.s Which workpapers are generally final signed and closed off by someone other than the CAE e.g., a VP or Director other than the supervisor on the audit? How many levels of sign-off is generally used in cases where there are no findings for test procedures?

We currently have three sign offs for the majority of workpapers - preparer, auditor in charge and manager. When the manager is the auditor in charge there are two levels of review. The CAE signs off on select workpapers and deliverables aligned with IIA guidance.
