Cross-functional collaboration can be measured using various key performance indicators (KPIs) such as weekly team meetings, average first response time, growth metrics, and the quality of communication between teams.

These KPIs can help assess the effectiveness of cross-team collaboration efforts and the level of alignment and communication across different functions and teams.

For example, tracking the frequency, clarity, and consistency of communication, as well as the achievement of common goals through KPIs like OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), can provide valuable insights into the success of cross-functional collaboration.

Using tools like analytics solutions, Slack, or Teams can help gather relevant data to evaluate and improve cross-team collaboration.

A great way to measure cross functional collaboration is through RFP contribution, where cross functional teams are expected to contribute. Cross Functional collaboration is also one of the goals with 5% weightage in our Performance Management process. Beyond this there are various other initiatives, events where cross functional teams are expected to contribute and present solution. We also have an annual award for the best cross functional team who contributed towards a successful project.

We use our regular pulse survey to measure it. We have launched a collaboration microlearning which was very well received by our employees with quick actions to follow. We measure the collaboration through our survey to see if the perception around collaboration is increasing. On the side we measure the number of initiatives who have cross business units employees and see if this number is growing or not.
