0) the most critical watchout is to have tight business alignment and active participation. Any ERP implementation is a BUSINESS project - cannot be successful if run as an IT Project.

1) Don't customize the application - look at your process and see how your process can change to match the capabilities of the system.

Lip service support of the deployment by senior business leaders vs real engaging participation. And if the segment of business you are deploying to is already struggling to make performance goals, be prepared to be blamed for many business problems that were not corrected as you deployed

With SAP the best deployments are when business requests the deployments and they drive their process changes to align to SAPs best practices
