For a detailed report on MFT, you can access the Gartner MFT magic quadrant report. In my previous organization we used Open Text.
Gartner haven't reported on the MFT market since 2009, which is curious because its a market which has grown considerably in that time; and is purported to reach a valuation of 2.28bn USD by 2027. I myself have created, grown and sold a company which specialised solely in managed file transfer.
In terms of marketplace analysis today, I would recommend speaking with Pro2col. A twenty year strong company based in the UK who specialise in MFT and work with ten of the industries top MFT vendors - and have links into many others. They have produced (and continue to add to) a really nice comparison page of the main players in the market - https://pro2col.com/mft-software-tools-list
Jean-Claude is somewhat right in his comment regarding GoAnywhere and MOVEit, however they were not breached themselves. High severity vulnerabilities were disclosed in their platforms which led to some of their customers being breached. I would argue for balance in these situations though.
In 2023, MITRE recorded nearly 27k vulnerabilities - I would argue that there is a level of risk in software development which can never fully absolve it from potential problems. Having worked in this field for much of my career, reliance solely on a vendor solution and not implementing complementary controls is foolhardy. On the brightside, I work closely with both GoAnywhere and MOVEit and know that their DevOps is much stronger as a result; and that they haven't seen much in they way of customer attrition.
