With evergrowing use of SaaS applications in an enterprise, I am curious to hear how IT Leaders are managing the consumption of SaaS licenses? I am noticing a few kinds of waste: 1. Users have license allocated to them but they don't use it. (shelfware) 2. User left the company but the license wasn't de-provisioned 3. The user has a need but at a very less frequency which means not a real need for a dedicated license. Are leaders on this forum using some SaaS licensing management product or doing home grown coding to manage it?

It's really about User Management, not SaaS licensing per se. Here's how I've solved it in the past --> https://www.onelogin.com/blog/cloud-app-provisioning-deprovisioning-for-high-techCISO in Software, 51 - 200 employees
We are going to POC a product called CleanShelf to manage our SaaS spend. I will be happy to let you know how well it works. If anyone else is using CleanShelf or another tool I would be interested in hearing more about it.Director of IT, Self-employed

I read "vendor" here to mean someone primarily providing a SaaS or PaaS, or even a desktop, web or mobile application, or code library. If that is correct, then it can be extremely hard to price.
