I use the openai.com classifier to detect LLM detected speech. Mainly in the production of text. I also run it through a plagiarism detector. This dual filter I trust.

A caveat and a quip:

caveat: I do consistently use gpt-4 for text production of all types from casual email to strategy. However, it is a junior assistant, amplifying, suggesting and acting on the production and editing of text that I give it. I see many using it for full text production without input and that doesn't usually lead to a good result. However, in a collaborative dialogue, gpt excels.

quip: I find I don't really need an anti-llm classifier to detect the use of gpt. Whenever I find a very well-reasoned, polite, clear, concise and balanced text that is well articulated, I am 99% certain the correspondent is using an LLM. And I am very happy for that.

‘AI’ Business Model – With many components flowing into the AI domain (cost, data, E&C, people, value, strategy, duplication of everything, etc.), I’ve started to think about splitting out ‘AI’ from the operating model and putting it into a separate legal entity. This way, I could manage a) risk and compliance, b) cost, c) resource allocation, d) governance, e) IP, f) revenue generation, etc.

Of course, this isn’t new in general, but I’m especially interested in how this approach could help with the ongoing challenge of ensuring compliance with data privacy and regulations related to LLMs and data access/usage over time.

My question: Is anyone else thinking about this, or has anyone already done it? I know there are examples in the literature, but I wanted to float this here for general comments and discussion.
