In this day and age?  Can I consolidate tools. The rule I had was if I could remove two tools for one, then yes!

I’d consider how much the benefits outweigh the costs, and whether the tool adds or improves capabilities.

For example: We recently passed on implementing a new market automation platform. While it added new capability with its many features, the cost to purchase, implement and maintain wasn’t worth it.

PI is one way of putting it, a better way might be “is it solving a major business problem that we do not have a tool to solve at the moment”.
