We are 100 per cent remote now and we were remote first since we founded the company 11 years ago. So the transition was painless and we only needed to streamline a few processes.

All of our knowledge workers could remain 100% remote with the collaboration tools we have (Teams/WebEx).   However obviously all factory workers need to be on-site.  That is probably 40% of the workforce

As a former digital nomad, I'm used to remote work with teams I have never met in person.

However, made an interesting observation, that my arguments were not understood before covid. That has now changed with the enforced experience of the past year.

- Before covid: not a single day.
- After covid: forever!

And by the way, it's not a question of technology (that was ready since years), it's a question of mindset and leadership.

If you don’t include factory workers easily 12 months. However special engineering and scientific work is impossible remote. Who has a home electron microscope?

I'm not saying it would be easy, but I do think if we had to we could adjust to all remote on an ongoing basis.  I hope we don't have to!
