It would help if there was a definition of incident.  Is it "alert that requires response (but didn't necessarily cause impact)?"  Is it "alert that caused impact?"

Yes, this is a key point. There’s something between “we did a lot of things in the course of business to address something” vs “we had an unplanned incident response” vs “we had something they caused impact.” Different places definitely define these things differently.

Our IT department is refreshing our SLAs and KPIs for Incident Management.  I would like to know who is a recognized authority on industry averages for IT Service Management processes for the service desk?  Below are examples of what I am looking for an industry average on. P1 95% resolved within 4 elapsed hours P2 90% resolved within 8 service hours P3 85% resolved within 3-5 days P4 85% resolved within 28 days

I lead a department that builds APIs that power the client experience. I am looking to rebrand and establish a new department name that more accurately reflects what we do.  Our current name is API and Microservices however, we are not the only department that builds APIs. I am looking for suggestions for a new department name.
