Do you recommend prioritizing simplicity in sales incentive plans for clarity, or do you recommend complexity to account for diverse sales scenarios, even if this introduces potential confusion? How do you strike the right balance?

There will be a number of rare scenarios that take place, but I think it should be optimised for simplicity. With a large sales team >100, the "rare" has a higher probability of occurring so I understand that there may be a requirement for more if, then scenarios.

Smaller teams should deal with rare occurrences on more of a case by case basis but monitor these so the right precedence is set. Be super clear on SPIFFS and other incentives so the GTM org recognises when a payout or recognition is a "one off"

Comp simplicity alone will contribute to 40-50% of what keeps reps motivated to keep pushing when the going gets tough. Don't make them struggle to understand what is expected of them before they even get started!
