How does your organization handle vacation/PTO allotments for mid-career external candidates?  Does your organization allow negotiation of vacation or paid time off with external candidates during the recruitment process? If not, does your PTO allotment policy recognize previous experience at other organizations?

We don’t discuss such topics in a typical recruitment process. Nor do we recognise previous experience in other companies. Vacation time is typically service dependent - and of course subject to local country policy, on some occasions additional salary sacrifice schemes are in place. Other areas of paid time off that are found in many counties concern employee volunteering.

We have a standardized vacation policy for all employees, regardless of experience.

I use Promotions / Average Headcount. We do not have clearly defined policies for determining when someone is eligible for a promotion, making the second metric difficult/impossible to calculate.
