Has anyone found a AI solution to screen IT contracts to reduce the time it takes to onboard a new vendor solution?

Yes, there are a number of CLM solutions out there that use AI to screen new and legacy contracts (and IT contracts) for deviations and risk against your approved terms and positions, and screen them for missing clauses and obligations against your standards.

There are very few solutions out there that can help you screen existing IT contracts to check for compliance of a new vendor solution against contracted terms and provisions. Here solutions that let you ask insights and intent driven questions using an AI backed conversational chat can help.

Finally, if your goal is to speed up vendor onboarding, then the screening needs to consider both - your IT contract(s) and the vendor provided forms, security and risk assessment questionnaires and so on collected at the time of onboarding and during the vendor lifecycle. In this scenario, AI solutions that screen and comprehend contracts to provide a picture of compliance against 'connected data and information', e.g. IT contract document+vendor security questionnaire response document would be needed.

Aavenir handles the first 2 use cases very well, and is working on insights across connected contract and onboarding and invoice data too. (Full disclosure: I work at Aavenir)

You can leverage RPA with OCR to help automate contract review. The large RPA providers all now have built in AI solutions which help expedite this.

We don't yet have an AI solution to screen contracts, but we're certainly looking into it because we get a lot of contracts that need to be reviewed on a continual basis. For now, we're putting teams together and developing a strategy around how we'll start out with it internally. Currently, in terms of AI applications, most people are looking at how they can use Copilot to be productive, although they haven't dived in so fully that they've got a solution for screening contracts yet. I don’t know of anyone that's found anything like that. That's not to say that it hasn't been done, but we mainly have clients coming to us and asking for help putting up guardrails around things like ChatGPT and large language models (LLMs) so people can play with those technologies safely.

Yes, AI-driven contract analysis tools are increasingly being used to streamline the screening of IT contracts and accelerate vendor onboarding processes.
