What did the best CIO/CDO/CISO/Deputy you have ever hired do differently?

This makes sense. It’s helpful to understand your own genius, so you know what to lean into and what someone else needs to complement your blind spots.

I can't day "the best I've ever hired" but I always think of Simon Sinek's take on leader/deputy model.
In it he talks about making sure you bring someone in who compliments your blind spots.
Visionary? Hire someone who is analytical.
Analytical? Make sure you have a visionary.
The example he gave of a good relationship was Jobs/Cook, and how things dropped because Cook didn't hire a Jobs to work under him.
