Does anyone have experience with employer-paid childcare subsidies and can discuss best practices? Bonus points if you are a manufacturing company! I am researching options to help with the #1 issue for women in manufacturing - childcare!

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce put together a blueprint for employers, looking at different child care options they have and highlighted a few businesses, including manufacturing: https://www.uschamberfoundation.org/solutions/early-childhood-and-k-12-education/employer-roadmap

Based on the need to help new parents for an easier transition to work, we had the opportunity to upgrade our parental assistance program wherein child care is given importance. We introduced a child care program (gender neutral) which offered options for up to a max. of 2 children with an age cap such as:

a) on-site: employees can bring their children at the daycare hosted on our company premises (special arrangement in the manufacturing plants, considering it's located on the city outskirts)
b) near-site: employees can bring their children to the daycare where we have partnered, located outside the company premises
c) off-site: employees can choose a day care of their choice depending on their needs with a cap on the amount that would get reimbursed

Hope this info. helps. For more information, please write to me directly. All the very best.

Metzen
