I'm looking for an open source tool that can provide network visualization and enable me to create interactive network maps. It should support a wide range of network types, including fiber optic networks, and display real-time traffic data.

if you're looking for a visualization tool, Gephi (https://gephi.org/) is an open-source, cross-platform network visualization and analysis tool.

Another option to consider is Cytoscape (https://cytoscape.org/), an open-source software platform for visualizing complex networks and integrating them with various data types. Cytoscape is primarily designed for biological networks but can be used for other types of networks as well.

in either options, these are visualization tools, they will not do network discovery and indexing ...

you might find apps / plugins for them that specialize in your need, or at least come close.
