While we are primarily on Microsoft's Azure stack with PowerBI for visualization, I am now initiating an assessment for SAP's BDC (Business Data Cloud). The intent is to establish the principles for deciding which analytics product should sit where (between PowerBI and BDC). For orgs on SAP platform, I expect such discussions to be increasingly relevant in near future.

Our main Data Analytics tool is ThoughtSpot backed by a Snowflake based Data Lakehouse. The combination of the two tools - neither of which have per user based licensing have allowed us to deploy a BOYD (bring your own data) Analytics model that promotes consolidation of data in a central repository and allowed us to outcompete silo'd and legacy tools such as Cognos and Business objects. We also run a small PowerBI user base for those reporting needs that are closely coupled to the Microsoft stack - such as Sharepoint lists, Project Online and adhoc excels.

We work with a variety of powerful tools, but my top picks are Databricks for advanced data processing and analysis, Azure Data Lake for scalable data storage and analytics, and Power BI Service for bringing data to life through dynamic visualizations.
