How do you use tools, like ChatGPT or Co-Pilot, to help you create a holistic narrative to build IT’s value story?

We're currently piloting Microsoft Co-Pilot, so it's not widely available to everyone yet. However, those who have access, including people outside of IT, are using it to help draft initial content. I find it useful for research during calls like this one. We also incorporate storytelling into our budget process. Each quarter, we review forecasts and provide explanations for any variances, whether favorable or unfavorable. This allows us to narrate the rationale behind our performance, which we then compile into an overall dashboard. We use a "watermelon slide" approach, with red, green, and yellow indicators to visually represent our status.
I'm definitely guilty of using tools like ChatGPT and Co-Pilot. We piloted Co-Pilot just before Christmas, but its rollout has been limited due to cost. These tools are helpful for transforming our stories into something more impactful. However, you have to be cautious—if misused, Co-Pilot can produce some outlandish results. We use it for smaller tasks and during our Monthly Business Review with the CEO. Our team collaborates to craft a "story of stories," focusing on the top narratives we want to present. We spend a few hours curating these stories to ensure the language resonates with the business and clearly conveys our message.
