Managing scalability and performance in an RBAC system as an organization grows requires a forward-thinking approach. One effective strategy is to adopt a role hierarchy model that minimizes redundancy and simplifies role management. This approach reduces the complexity of access controls and enhances system performance as the number of users and roles increases. Additionally, integrating automated tools for role mining and optimization can help identify and eliminate unused or redundant roles, ensuring the RBAC system remains efficient. Regular audits and monitoring are also crucial to adapt the RBAC framework to evolving organizational needs without compromising performance. By proactively managing these elements, we can ensure that our RBAC system scales effectively alongside our organization's growth.

To manage scalability and performance in an RBAC system it is recommended to use hierarchical roles and automated assignments.  Assuming the implementation is based on cloud infrastructure, effective adoption of scalable architectures (like microservices) can help with scalability. Indexing and caching can help with performance.
