Invest in their growth and development; use regular check-ins and 'stay interviews' to discover what is most important to them in their career so that you can invest in them in a differentiated way. Tap into their unique strengths and abilities and make sure they have insight into how their role is integral to the bigger picture.

Make them feel accountable and responsible for what they do, create a servant leadership spirit and give trust in the people who are at the line; what do they observe when it comes to quality, waste, inventory and efficiency. Those are the people that know your manufacturing process inside out, benefit from their knowledge and commitment to come to work every day to make the company profitable.
