What do you do to prevent “coffee badging” (e.g., scheduling meetings, lunches, etc.), or are you fine with it?

This really ties with the company's philosophy in offering flexible work arrangements. For many sole contributor's type of role, it is often unnecessary to be physically present in the office. Rather, to make sure employees WFH stay connected and be available for joint discussions, one may consider introducing some ground rules to govern the arrangements of meetings.
My view on this is to be clear on expectations of employees through formalised WFH options that are reviewed frequently and adjusted if not a win/win for both parties. If an employee is not fulfilling their inherent duties together with working the hours they are paid for this is a performance issue to be addressed respectfully. The relationship is two way if the business was not paying someone for the hours worked its called wage theft, if someone is not working their hours it is also wage theft. We need to get back to a respectful workplace and relationship that is equal.
To avoid it, we put in place the following rule: employees need to be at the office between 9am and 3pm. In addition, when employees are going to the office, it’a to attend meetings with peers and and management.
