HPE is recognized in the new 2018 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Hyperconverged Infrastructure. According to Gartner, “The desire for increased simplicity, efficiency and agility, combined with hybrid deployments and infrastructure refresh cycles, is driving enterprises toward hyperconverged infrastructure consolidation.” 1
Modern IT leaders face a dilemma. The cost and complexity of traditional IT leaves few resources to focus on transformative projects and innovation let alone a worry-free environment. The IT teams across organizations are faced with bandwidth challenges, unable to focus on more strategic projects. On top of this, need for reliable storage efficiency and quick back-ups are making the situation even more complex.
And while public cloud promises greater speed and agility, going all-in on cloud isn’t possible for business-critical workloads where performance, protection, privacy, and control are paramount. If you’re struggling to achieve the agility and economics of the cloud with enterprise-grade performance and protection, HPE SimpliVity is the answer.
HPE SimpliVity is an all-flash, pre-integrated, hyperconverged building block which can scale to 96 nodes per federation and dramatically simplify IT by combining all hyperconverged infrastructure and advanced data services for virtualized workloads including VM-centric management and mobility, data protection and guaranteed data efficiency. HPE SimpliVity is available on two different platforms: the HPE ProLiant DL380 Server (VMware or Hyper-V enabled) OR the HPE SimpliVity 2600 a new platform that utilizes software optimization for deduplication and compression and is ideal for space constrained IT environments which require high density nodes.
HPE SimpliVity 380
HPE SimpliVity 380 offers multiple configuration options. In addition to medium and large all-flash configurations, it offers extra-small and small solutions in single and dual-socket configurations, that are priced right for small to midsized businesses and remote and branch offices. These solutions include all flash storage at, twice the performance and half the latency of leading competitive hybrid offerings, plus built-in backup and recovery data protection.
HPE SimpliVity 2600
The HPE SimpliVity 2600 is a new solution for edge and VDI workloads that offers HPE SimpliVity software on a new hardware platform that is based on HPE Apollo 2000 servers and is optimized for environments that require higher density nodes. In fact, this solution offers 4x more rack density than the HPE SimpliVity 380. HPE is the first vendor to deliver consistent performance with always-on deduplication and compression that is enabled by software, and has been tested and validated by HPE and Login VSI2.
HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure represents a significant improvement over early forms of convergence and hyperconvergence, changing existing infrastructure paradigms in three ways: data efficiency, built-in data protection, and global unified management. All IT components are combined in a single shared pool of commodity x86 resources. This enables a scalable, modular building-block approach that not only controls up front capital investment but also reduces OpEx. The modularity of HPE SimpliVity enables high scaling in small server/storage increments. All resources and workloads contained in the collective federation are managed centrally.
