“Growth” does not have to mean “more” or “bigger.” Sales and Marketing need to become a single team with distinct roles that are collaborating all the time.

Good morning, obviously the strategy depends on the type of company, the market served, the services/products offered and the geographical coverage. In general, the work of integrating and sharing objectives between marketing and sales is, from my point of view, the most important element. Making teams understand each other's work and sharing activities with goals and objectives, is fundamental. I would start - for example - by sharing the concept of a lead: for sales it is a ready-to-buy name and for marketing it is (often) an interested name. If already in the first few months they can find the precise point to ‘pass the baton’ all relationships and processes will improve.

1. Give sales a voice and role in the creation of marketing plans and initiatives. By doing so they are aligned and have had a chance to give their voice / input. In this way it becomes their story, not that of marketing. This contributes to more sincere messaging when talking to (potential) customers.

2. Have them look and contribute in the start of sales funnels. Make them understand where and how the journey starts.

3. Give them a framework where they can duplicate, replicate or compose their messages / presentations with brand approved materials.
