What elements of your organization's EVP have had the greatest impact on attracting and retaining talent?

In strengthening our EVP, the most impactful thing has been key manager/employee behaviors that identify the value the individual employees are looking for at any point in their career, and helping them to align their work with that.  For example, for some it is flexibility, for some it is development opportunities, for others it is global experiences.  Whatever it is, the "system" doesn't always work to automatically match up what an individual is looking for with an opportunity unless managers are having those conversations with them.

EVP has suffered when leaders and managers move away from understanding and supporting employee needs so that employees can perform and achieve together. Blanket Return to office mandates recently have been a big blow to EVP.

I think the two elements of our EVP that likely have the greatest impact on talent attraction are our culture of personal and professional growth and development and our balanced approach to work-life integration.

In my perspective, our organization's EVP achieves significant impact through personalized storytelling tailored to different talent profiles. By understanding the unique needs of various talent pools, we highlight specific aspects that resonate with each audience. For mid to senior brokers, the appeal lies in our streamlined, less bureaucratic approach, enabling faster decision-making. Meanwhile, early-career professionals value our global reach, cross-border opportunities and commitment to sustainability, creating a relatable narrative that enhances attraction and retention efforts.
