We are looking to revise our 'exec leadership kpi/measurement'. I would be interested to hear how your organization is measuring the performance of your leaders? We have a scorecard around key business metrics such as NPBT, Revenue, Employee Engagement etc. but the KPI we have around measuring how they are performing in terms of leadership more broadly is what I need some ideas on ie. the behavioral aspects eg. communication across the organization, inclusivity, development of key individuals etc. What do you specifically call-out / measure, and how?

Typically, an Employee Engagement Survey would be a great start to see how leaders are doing and where they would need help. We look at a Leadership Index that captures Quality of Feedback for performance improvement; Valuing different perspectives; Providing resources to do the job well; Empowering with opportunities to learn and grow etc.
We used an index called Leadership Accountability Index, in one of the organizations I worked for. LAI is composite score of targeted 8-10 questions. This survey was opened at the same time of the overall engagement survey for employees to provide feedback on how their leaders were doing on a number of factors (such as providing feedback, helping them understand any org changes, coaching, recognition, inspiring others, empowerment, access to discuss any issues, building culture etc). We used to see the leaders who are really hitting it our of the park on LAI vs the ones who are really struggling. This allowed better developmental needs and scoping targeted solution for the ones who needed it the most.
