In this talk, Carlos Eduardo M. Moreira, Supervisor of Infrastructure, Technology, and Information Security at the Court of Accounts of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (TCE-RS), highlights the More Resilient IT Project, an initiative that consolidated actions to strengthen the continuity and security of IT services in the face of high-impact events, such as the 2024 flood and the 2022 ransomware attack. With structural improvements in physical infrastructure, contingency practices, adoption of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Extended Asset Protection, and a Security Operations Center (SOC), the project raised the institution’s technological maturity, reduced vulnerabilities, and improved crisis response. By integrating climate resilience and cybersecurity, the case offers a concrete and replicable model for recovery and support of critical operations, providing practical lessons for public and private organizations seeking greater robustness against digital threats and extreme events.
