Deidre Melton serves as Chief AI Officer, Associate Vice President for Enterprise Risk Management, and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Florida A&M University (FAMU). She leads enterprise initiatives at the intersection of risk, artificial intelligence, operational resilience, and institutional transformation.

With a career spanning enterprise risk management, auditing, cybersecurity, technology, and governance, Deidre brings a cross-functional perspective to navigating emerging and complex risks. At FAMU, she leads the University’s enterprise risk management program and AI strategy, advancing risk-informed decision-making, responsible AI adoption, and organizational resilience.
Deidre holds a multitude of certifications in audit, fraud, investigations, risk, and cybersecurity. She is an active leader in the risk, audit, and technology communities and serves in several state and national professional leadership roles. She is a frequent speaker on enterprise risk, AI governance, emerging technology, and the evolving role of risk leaders in higher education.
