I believe that AI can automate away the busy work as a great co-pilot, but the relationship, intuition, conversation, and understanding part of sales should continue to be part of the human experience...
We use Microsoft CoPilot extensively as an administrative assistant. It's amazing for summarising meetings, creating followup tasks etc. It's also good if you can't make a meeting and just want to read a summary to see if it's worth listening back. However the extended promise of AI I think is still some way off and is going to be really complicated to achieve with reliability & consistency. People talk all the time about "Grounding the AI in your data" - easier said than done. There's lots of data all over the place, it's often not clean (e.g. Account duplicates) and still AI hallucinate a lot. They have no concept of which content creator to prefer (they can equally reference an old out of date document from anyone as much as the final version from the specialist) and so on. I read all the new stuff from Dan Gottlieb and it's very informative and has given me lots of ideas on practical next steps and guard rails. I think it will come, but it's not here right now.
