What is the value of the enablement function for your team? Is it viewed as a strategic function? Or is it viewed as a reactive, fill requests function?

Enablement function has a strategic role helping sales team to understand how we can provide business value considering the changing scenario (new technologies, new customers needs, social  and political trends, etc.). However enablement function is a key for success for any "not standard" proposition in order to provide all the elements to sales people for evaluating the best solution. The engagement rule for a reactive activity is "every time the proposition moves away from a standard proposition"

At Groove Technology, the enablement function is a blend of both strategic and reactive approaches. To measure its impact, we assess metrics such as reduced time-to-productivity and increased customer and employee satisfaction (NPS and ENPS). Besides, we also observe qualitative benefits like enhanced confidence, improved communication, and increased innovation.

As a strategic function, enablement focuses on aligning team capabilities with long-term business goals. This involves proactive planning to ensure that team members are prepared for future challenges and opportunities and creating a learning culture where continuous improvement is encouraged. (Agility and Continuous Improvement are two of our Core Values).

To be more specific, we provide clear guidelines, policies, and tools for our employees to effectively work in a hybrid working model. We have an anonymous feedback channel for employees to share their ideas or concerns. We offer internal coaching to help employees grow and have a comprehensive Recognition Program to promptly reward their contributions and innovative ideas. Our comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, and mentoring programs, as well as creative engagement strategies, have resulted in a 15% reduction in onboarding time for new hires and a 25% improvement in the retention rate for the period 2021-2023. Other confidential metrics cannot be disclosed, sorry.

We ensure that the enablement function also works as a fill-request function by addressing the teams' immediate needs and requests. Our L&D Department and BU Heads work closely to fill urgent skill gaps or knowledge deficiencies.

In summary, strategic enablement contributes to the organization's scalability and adaptability, while reactive enablement helps solve short-term problems and allows the team to respond quickly to changes. Both are essential for success in today’s VUCA world.

Our enablement team is highly strategic ! We get at least one hour enablement each week, and specific programs every quarter for product certifications.
Weekly sessions are on sales programs and initiatives, as well as knowledge sharing : sales approaches, customer references, sales add ons.
Quarterly enablements are ran to train and the solution, new functionalities, and certfifcation driven. They are essential to keep everybody aware and able to share and sell innovations.
