As numbers are a base ingredient of policy making, evaluation and monitoring, it is important all analyses exposed through a public website are up-to-date and correct. With the launch of their new website, The Department WSE introduced a strong integration of Business Intelligence within their base platform. Based on a multi-layered solution, the Belgian citizens can access labour market information in a very easy-to-use, easy-to-understand format (for e.g. a geographical map).

Hiscox: Designing Solvency II Capital Reports at Hiscox

Solvency II is a new regulatory regime that affects European insurance companies. This presentation will show how we have built a reporting system at Hiscox that monitors the level of capital required under Solvency II against the capital we actually hold. The session will give an overview of the architecture and will explain how we have dealt with: • Too many reports in the original template • Problems caused by alternative drill-down paths • The fact that capital numbers do not roll up in any way

Betfair: Real-Time Decisions: E-Commerce Optimization at Betfair

Betfair have successfully implemented Oracle Real-Time Decisions to personalize our website in order to present the most relevant betting recommendations to individual customers across multiple countries, with the challenge of managing a dynamic inventory of events that can exist from a few minutes to a number of years. Results show higher bet and click through rates, ultimately resulting in revenue uplift. Betfair is one of the world’s largest international online sports betting providers with its betting exchange processing more than seven million transactions a day.
