Track 3: Cloud Computing: The Why, When and How of Adoption

Cloud computing continues to rate as the number one area of interest for Gartner clients. While most enterprises are beyond the awareness stage, most are still struggling to understand how they should address the opportunities and challenges presented by cloud computing. Concerns abound regarding privacy, security and reliability. The questions of integration between on-premises and cloud-based resources are largely unanswered. But the significant benefits of agility and cost savings delivered by cloud computing are too compelling to ignore. Forward-thinking enterprises are answering the questions of cloud computing not with an 'if', but with a 'when'. The challenge is to understand, based on a risk/reward evaluation, what cloud services are appropriate for adoption, when they are appropriate, and the best practices, technologies and vendors which should be employed.
