Matt Walter is Senior Vice President, Human Resources, IT, and Global Communications & Corporate Marketing (GCCM) at Medtronic, where he serves as the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, he provides executive oversight for Human Resources, IT, GCCM, the Medtronic Foundation, and Medtronic LABS, and leads Medtronic’s enterprise-wide digital and AI transformation. As Chairman of the Medtronic Foundation Board, Matt guides the company’s philanthropic strategy, advancing efforts to expand access to healthcare and economic opportunity worldwide. He also serves on the Board of Directors for MiniMed and on the advisory board of the Center for Executive Succession. Before joining Medtronic in 2014, Matt led Talent Management at Best Buy and previously held several leadership roles at Bank of America. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Francis University and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Colorado State University.
