As an IT practitioner, the best thing I can hope for is when IT (or technology at large) becomes a differentiator for the business. This ability inspires. For example, Loreal can now do hyper customization of makeup i.e. manufacture very targeted and specific makeup for the individual based on skin type, oils, etc. This is possible by technology. This is a huge differentiator for Loreal. Similarly, for Amazon, technology and IT makes the differentiators which helps consumers know what they can order, when it will arrive and even where it is right now in the shipment cycle.

Much like , I'm inspired by the fact that my job is fun, I'm supported by my leadership and stakeholders, and ultimately, I'm enabled to innovate. That innovation allows me to make the maximum impact possible on my business and facilitate change where change is long overdue.

Without a doubt - Technical Debt! It's a ball and chain that creates an ever increasing drag on any organization, stifles innovation, and prevents transformation.
