Overview
This quarter, we are keeping an eye on the stuttering global economic recovery and, in particular, the ongoing eurozone crisis and its impact on the outlook for IT spending. We are also highlighting some significant changes in our forecast coverage. For example, we have reviewed and updated our IT services market segmentation to better reflect how the sector is evolving, and we have introduced a new client device forecast model covering PCs, mobile devices and tablets.
These changes will enable us to provide richer insight into IT spending trends. One of the most important trends in the IT sector, of course, is the emergence of the "cloud," and we are ramping up our market coverage. Starting with this quarter, we will update our public cloud services forecast each quarter and expand coverage as the cloud model evolves. This first quarterly update is based on our new IT services market segmentation and adds country coverage for the first time.
