Does anyone have experience moving from one I9 vendor to another?  What did you do to retain the documents from the old vendor?  Looking for insights and any recommendations/lessons learned.

This was several years ago, but we had the old vendor export all the archived I9s to us and we put them in a secure archive. They need to be maintained separately from other employee records, as you probably know. If you want them to be retained by the new vendor, ask if they can load PDFs by person number in their system; their reporting would be from the new contract on.

We have recently moved to a new I-9 vendor...for the 3rd time in recent years. Each vendor has arranged to transfer the previous electronic I-9 records into their system. This is usually an additional cost. Our newest vendor is even helping us with our paper I-9s.
