'C' Level Executives Confirm Gartner Symposium/ITxpo as Strategic Resource for Technology Industry
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo to be held October 8-12 in Orlando
STAMFORD, Conn., October 1, 2001 - Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB), a research and advisory firm, confirmed that Symposium/ITxpo 2001 will begin as planned on October 8 in Orlando, Florida, according to Gartner Symposia executive management.

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, the leading source for technology research and analysis for IT professionals and business leaders, will feature a full schedule of keynote CEOs from leading high-tech companies such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Intel and Sun Microsystems.

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo has also added several supplemental seminars to its previously planned disaster recovery and business continuity information sessions, as well as a Town Meeting hosted by a panel of Gartner analysts.

A survey completed in August of management titles by those enrolled in the upcoming Gartner Symposium/ITxpo revealed a significant increase in participation by the CEO, CIO, and CTO level executive management. In addition to the strong turnout of senior executives registered for the event, the number of CEOs registered rose 200 percent and the number of CIOs/CTOs rose nearly 120 percent over last year's event.

"The participation level by some of the world's most powerful technology industry executives indicates the respect the industry has for Gartner Symposium/ITxpo guidance and analysis," said Kathy Foreman, vice president of Symposia Programs.

In addition to increased participation among the most powerful executive levels, Symposium/ITxpo has retained a strong list of exhibitor participants, despite a slowing economy. Nearly 338 exhibitors are scheduled to be on site October 8.
