Adam Banks

Former Chief Technology and Information Officer at Maersk
Adam currently holds a number of Non Executive and Advisory positions. He has previously been the CIO and CDO of A.P. Moller Maersk group, where he established and matured the global Technology organisation being accountable of all the deliveries and capabilities of a billion-dollar technology organisation. He has helped Maersk to become the global market leader for digital services launching products that fundamentally changed the customer experience and creating the worlds largest non financial blockchain ecosystem. He has been acknowledged by numerous bodies including The World Economic Forum for leading the recovery of Maersk following the world’s largest Cyber Attack in 2017 and also founded the shipping industry digital standards body, gaining the support and funding of the majority of global carriers.

Before joining Maersk, Adam was the CTO and Executive Vice President of Monitise, where he transformed the business into a subscription-based business-model, undertaking a number of acquisitions to complete the product set. Prior to this, Adam was CIO and CTO for Visa Europe and was part of a team that successfully grew the business exponentially, and at the time the business was sold, he was accountable for Technology, Customer Services and a large portion of the revenue base. Earlier in his career, he spent time in consulting and the insurance industry. Adam also serves in a number of non- executive capacities across a range of industries.
