S. Krishnan is posted as Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, New Delhi since 11th September 2023. MeitY’s vision is the e-development of India using technology as the engine for transition to a developed nation and an empowered society. MeitY’s mission is to promote e-governance, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, IT & ITeS industries, Internet Governance, development of human resources, R&D and innovation, Emerging Technologies, digital services and ensuring a secure cyberspace. Krishnan is a member of the Indian Administrative Services for the past 35 years and has wide experience in range of assignments in the Government of Tamil Nadu, Government of India and International Monetary Fund. He served as Additional Chief Secretary in Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu from November 2021 to August 2023.
