Key Take-Aways From the 2015 Conference
Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2015 explored the new meaning of supply chain excellence in the digital age, preparing leaders to push past traditional boundaries, drive innovation, and uncover new sources of value for the enterprise. A record 1,300+ attendees learned to merge the “science” of supply chain technologies with the “art” of processes, talent and metrics.
The conference kicked off on Monday, May 11, with two industry-focused exchange programs that attracted nearly 500 attendees. The
Gartner Healthcare Exchange
, in its second year, catered to healthcare service providers and life sciences manufacturers. Participants discussed topics such as patient-driven outcomes and new healthcare cost paradigms, and heard from senior supply chain executives from Pfizer, Intermountain Healthcare and Owens & Minor.
Gartner Consumer-Retail Exchange
debuted this year and served supply chain executives across consumer goods and food and beverage value chains, as well as retailers. There were discussions about multichannel fulfillment and the impact of e-commerce and big data on shelf availability. Senior supply chain executives from Kimberly-Clark, Dollar General and McDonald’s also shared their journeys.
