WHAT
Now in its 2nd year, the Gartner Business Intelligence Excellence Award is dedicated to promoting excellence in Business Intelligence and Information Management. Gartner BI analysts will evaluate, recognize and reward the most successful recent BI implementations by end-user organizations.
The award, launched in Asia Pacific in 2009, will be awarded to one of three finalists presenting their cases live at the Gartner Business Intelligence & Information Management Summit on Tuesday, 22 February 2011 in Sydney.

How is the Winner Selected?
The selection is designed around deployments of Business Intelligence and Performance Management solutions. Criteria used in evaluating BI Excellence Award nominations includes components outlines in the Gartner research note titled Business Intelligence, Analytics and Performance Management Framework.
A team of Gartner judges will evaluate and rate each entry based on how clearly the entrant demonstrates excellence in their initiative and three finalists will be selected.
The three Business Intelligence Excellence Award finalists will each present their case studies during a plenary session at the Business Intelligence & Information Management Summit 2011 on Tuesday 22 February 2011. Summit attendees will vote to select the winner.
The winner will be announced during the Closing Keynote on Wednesday 23 February 2011.

- Media Exposure and Industry Visibility: winners will be announced and posted on gartner.com and a post-event press release will publicise this outstanding achievement.
