Gordon Hu is an Executive Partner based in Beijing, China. Equipped with his 23-year experience in ICT and manufacturing industry, he advises clients on their IT-related strategy and business challenges by leveraging Gartner's knowledge, expertise and best practices.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Hu was the CIO at TSC Group, a global offshore rig design, manufacturing, and service company, for 5 years, being in charge of overall IT strategy planning, business process transformation and implementation of information systems, IT operations, etc. He was also the director of e-Commerce department, supporting TSC global parts service expanding. Besides IT role, Mr. Hu was the head of Corporate Strategy, being in charge of corporate strategy & planning, strategic alliance and business innovations, etc.
Prior to TSC, Mr. Hu spent six years in Huawei Technologies, as the Director of Standards & Ecosystem Strategy of Corporate Strategy Dept. He focused on Enterprise IT solutions and led strategy planning in the areas of M2M, cloud/data center, smart grid, etc. He also held leadership roles in several industry organizations representing Huawei,as board member at IEEE-SA, MEF China Chair, etc.
Before joining Huawei, he worked as the Software Manager of Enterprise Network Service products at Nortel Networks in Canada for 6 years.
Prior to Nortel Networks, he spent about 5 years in an Internet service company (MWeb), and an information service company(HL95) in Beijing respectively.
