In his five years outside of Gartner, he was VP of the Corporate Strategy at Hyperion, which was acquired by Oracle. At Oracle, he ran part of the Hyperion business unit, and later he founded and ran a global Oracle thought leadership program. He was also Chief Marketing Officer at the Netherlands-based software vendor Be Informed. Mr. Buytendijk is also the author of five books, including "Performance Leadership," which is about organizational behavior; "Dealing With Dilemmas," which covers strategy; and "Socrates Reloaded," which explores the philosophy and ethics of information technology. One of his case studies from "Dealing With Dilemmas" was even included in the Harvard Business Review case study database.
