Previous Experience
Mr. Gill began his career at AT&T in 1979 in data networking, and included technical, product management, and product marketing roles in local and wide area products and services, including X.25, packet networking, local area networks, and networking software for AT&T's Unix Operating System. Starting in 1989, Mr. Gill spent 15 years at Gartner in research and executive roles, including Group Vice President and Director of Research for a startup synthesized within Gartner. In 2002, Mr. Gill was VP of Business Development for a value-added reseller focused on the SMB medical market. He then served as Chief Research Officer for The Information Project, where he was responsible for the overall research agenda and process, as well as Managing Director of the Server practice, which spawned the virtualization and cloud practice areas. Mr. Gill returned to Gartner in 2012.
